Perioral Dermititis

I have lived a VERY long life of dealing with Perioral Dermititis (PD).  I can happily tell you that my dermatitis is now dormant and is virtually invisible.  Although it is still really there I have learned how exactly to make it appear non-existant.

This definitely didn't happen overnight.  I didn't wake up one day with knowing this.  And actually after so many years of dermatology visits and drugs I was in denial that anything else could help me at all.  It took me A TON of trial and error to figure things out.

But after years of denial, I started putting together a lot of things I read online and started experimenting.  So here is my list.  If I follow this to a T, my dermatitis DISAPPEARS.  If I break ANY of these rules my dermatitis flares and reappears.

I Never Use/Consume:

-  Flouride toothpaste: I use Jason's flouride-free spearmint toothpaste

-  Tap water with flouride (including ice): I always ONLY drink bottled water

-  Tap water without flouride and unfiltered: I always drink bottled water unless its filtered tap water WITHOUT flouride

-  Mint floss:  I use non-flavored floss.  Some mints, including Tom's mint fluoride-free toothpaste aggravates it

-  Avacado:  I don't eat any avacado

- Bananas:  I don't eat any bananas

- Turmeric:  I know, but I don't consume anything with Turmeric

- Shampoo with SLS (sodium lauryl Sulfate)

- Face cleaner with SLS (sodium lauryl Sulfate)

- Heavily herbed, minty, or any avacado-y body product unless I want a flare up 

I Like to Use:

- First Aid Skin Care Wash and Moisturizer

- Spectro face cleaner for flare ups

I'm Ok With These Other Known Common PD Aggravators:

-  Eggs:  I have no problem with eggs

-  Cinnamon:  I have no problem with cinnamon
